Discovering New Places ~ My City Toronto/GTA ~ QRC JAN 2016
The Queen Richmond Centre ( QRC ) is a landmark development in Toronto's Downtown West end, located at the corners of Richmond and Peter Streets. If you are ever in the neighbourhood, it is “ a must see “!
Once home to the Weston Biscuit Factory, it has also served as a nightclub. Today it offers premium office space and not surprisingly, this past November ( 2015 ) , it was chosen as the venue to host the annual party for the Toronto Society of Architects.
Great thought was taken when designing the building, blending old and new architectural features, office and retail spaces the QRC is a landmark development that anyone can pop into to have a peak. Open to the public weekdays until 5pm, you can grab a coffee or baked treat from Early Bird Espresso, soak up the sun filled atrium and admire – (in my humble opinion!) – this beautifully restored heritage building from it’s interior.
Early Bird Espresso is there for only a short time until June 2016.
Ricarda's restaurant is to come and occupy the first floor, due to open June 2016.
By then there will be a year-round patio area in the atrium with a separate wine bar!
